weird things always happen to me on jeff buckley’s birthday

i’ve been trying to get myself to start going to open mics for several years now and ive always been too scared, but for some reason last week i decided this thursday was going to be the day i finally start, and that i would play one of jeffs songs. OF ALL THE DAYS OF THE YEAR i just happened to pick this one. i had been practising for weeks but i didnt realise it was his birthday until this morning in class when i wrote the date on my assignment.

and then just now, my guitar broke so i went to this random music store, and as i was waiting at the counter i was admiring their pick collection under the glass and i immediately recognised one of them because it had one of jeffs drawings on it. i asked the dude about it and he brought me to the other side of the store to show me a photograph that he had jeff sign in the 90’s, along with a small piece of the sin-e which he took before they tore the building down. he knew him. he’s seen him play several times. i almost started crying in front of everyone oh my god
